Myths and legends of ancient Peru offers a selection of diverse stories from the coast, mountains and jungle of our country. In them, they narrate not only fantastic facts about the origins of various divinities but also the birth of great  civilizations, such as the Inca. Although the ancient Peruvians had not developed the technique of writing, the wealth of their knowledge and, above all, their invaluable narrative tradition was transmitted orally through time, in many cases, up to the present day. The stories compiled in this book survived the inexorable passage of time and were, fortunately, compiled, allowing us to learn even more about who our ancestors were.

Mitos y leyendas del Perú antiguo ofrece una selección de diversos relatos de la costa, sierra y selva de nuestro país. En ellos, se narran no solo hechos fantásticos sobre los orígenes de diversas divinidades sino también el nacimiento de grandes civilizaciones, como la Inca. Si bien los antiguos peruanos no habían desarrollado la técnica de la escritura, la riqueza de sus conocimientos y, sobre todo, su invaluable tradición narrativa se fueron transmitiendo oralmente a través del tiempo, en muchos casos, hasta nuestros días. Los cuentos compilados en este libro sobrevivieron al inexorable paso del tiempo y fueron, afortunadamente, recopilados, lo cual nos permite conocer aún más sobre quiénes fueron nuestros antepasados.
