Páginas (perdidas) de la vida mía. Here is “la Mistral comadre y recadera, mujer vieja y criolla, juguetona: ese es su mal y su bien”.  (“the Mistral, bosom friend and messenger, an old and playful criolla woman: that is her ill and her good”). This is how Gabriela Mistral defines herself in a seemingly impersonal, but all the same, intimate way and grants insight, with creative epistolary phrasing, to that "being me" with no considerations, if not for her libertary seeing, feeling and thinking the world. This remark also reveals her passionate human temperament, and bears testimony to her writing in these scattered pages of sundry lessons, lost or forgotten in her time as well as now. Simply, a Gabriela Mistral unhampered by halo or legend, shown in her clever womanhood, in her graceful way of telling her own intimacy, in her resolute approach to her fellow reader; in her day-to-day vicissitudes, ruses and contradictions or in her discoveries, joys and kindnesses; lastly, in the prodigious singularity of her motivating themes, always brimming with validity and contemporaneity. Sense and spirit imbue these pages of surprising, visionary and appreciative writing, without any strict obligation to herself other than to speak her most legitimate and endearing Elqui Valley Spanish. Based on her intense worldly saudade, the "comadre y recadera" that Gabriela Mistral was, would write several letters —where we  witness her living plenitude—and not a few recados —epitomizing the originality of her style—, which convey her own most personal , persistent tone: that rural speech she grew up in and stays well alive within us: “Aquí estoy si acaso me ven, / y lo mismo si no vieran”  _ Jaime Quezada.
