Davis was first published in 1946 as a part of the book Cristian y yo. In this brief short story, the author, Augusto d’Halmar, narrates a young man’s stroll and his conversations with the Moon, in which they discuss a friend he has not seen in a long time.

Davis, a recurrent character in d’Halmar’s narrative, opens a small window into the author of works that include Juana Lucero and Pasión y muerte del cura Deusto.

Davis is one of the short stories that inaugurate our collection "Letra Invertida", which brings together short stories that focus on LGBTIQ+ issues through time.
