Davis was first published in 1946 as a part of the book Cristian y yo. In this brief short story, the author, Augusto d’Halmar, narrates a young man’s stroll and his conversations with the Moon, in which they discuss a friend he has not seen in a long time.
Davis, a recurrent character in d’Halmar’s narrative, opens a small window into the author of works that include Juana Lucero and Pasión y muerte del cura Deusto.

Augusto d’Halmar (1882-1950) was a Chilean writer and the first to be awarded the National Prize for Literature, in 1942. With an extensive corpus of narrative works, d’Halmar stood out thanks to his naturalistic writing and the creation of Colonia Tolstoyana. Some of his more important works include Juana Lucero (1902) and Pasión y muerte del cura Deusto (1924). Davis is included as one of the short stories from Cristián y yo (1946).

Davis fue publicado por primera vez el año 1946 como parte del libro Cristián y yo. Su autor, Augusto d’Halmar, en este breve cuento narra el paseo de un joven y las conversaciones que tiene con la Luna en torno a un amigo que no ve hace mucho tiempo.
